CycloPilot

Privacy Policy

Version 1.0.0 · Effective October 19, 2026

This policy explains what information CycloPilot processes when you use the iPhone app, the website, and the testing program. CycloPilot is currently in a testing phase (a private beta distributed, among other means, through TestFlight), so this policy may be adjusted before any public launch.

Who is responsible

  • CycloPilot is developed and operated by an independent developer in Chile. No company has been formed to operate it as of today; if that changes, we will say so on this page.
  • For any question or request about your data you can write to contact@cyclopilot.app.

Information we may process

  • Testing program application: name, email, country, region or city, cycling disciplines, riding frequency, equipment (iPhone, Apple Watch, bike computer, radar, cycling HUD glasses, and sensors, including the brand or model you provide), membership in cycling clubs or groups (the names you enter), and feedback.
  • Account: your email and the sign-in method (email, Google, or Apple). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic data that provider gives us, such as your name and email (with Apple, this may be a relay email).
  • Profile: name, alias, photo, date of birth, sex, height, weight, clubs, disciplines, and your privacy preferences, depending on the data you choose to enter.
  • Activities: rides, routes, and tracks, including GPS points, time, distance, elevation, and calculated metrics.
  • GPS location during a ride, which the app may keep using with the screen locked or in the background if you allow it.
  • Sensors and devices you choose to connect: heart rate, power, cadence, speed, tire pressure, radar, and Apple Watch. If you allow it, CycloPilot can save your rides as workouts in Apple Health.
  • Community: followers and requests, group and spontaneous rides, chat messages, route alerts and events, and the information you share through those features.
  • Notifications: a device identifier used to send you push notifications, if you allow them.
  • Technical information needed to operate, protect, and diagnose the service.

Live location and community

  • During a ride, CycloPilot may publish your position and ride data (for example speed, heading, time, distance, and metrics from your sensors) so that other people can see them in real time. Who can see them depends on three separate mechanisms, which are not governed by a single setting:
  • My Network: your followers can see you live according to the visibility setting in your profile ("visible to my network"), which you can change in the app.
  • Group and spontaneous rides: participants in a group or spontaneous ride you take part in can see you during that ride. This access is based on your participation in the ride, not on the "visible to my network" option.
  • Tracking links: if you create a live tracking link, anyone who has it can see your location while the link is valid. Access is based on the link itself, which you decide to create and share; do not share it with people you do not trust.
  • If you use a compatible radar, CycloPilot may send the position, heading, and distance of detected vehicles, associated with your account, for collaborative radar features.
  • CycloPilot does not intend to use your location for advertising.

How we use information

  • Manage applications and select participants for different testing stages.
  • Operate CycloPilot features and record activities initiated by the user.
  • Enable the community, safety, and tracking features you choose to use.
  • Improve stability, performance, safety, and user experience based on testing and feedback.
  • Communicate with you about the testing program, support, or material service changes.
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and security issues.

Providers and third-party services

  • Supabase: authentication, database, file storage (such as your photo and your ride files), and real-time communication.
  • Google and Apple: sign-in with Google and with Apple; push notifications (through Google’s Firebase); and, for Apple, Apple Health, Apple Watch, and the device’s maps and geocoding services.
  • Mapbox: maps, including offline maps.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting, abuse protection (for example, on the application form), and processing of app requests.
  • Navigation and weather services: to calculate routes and show forecasts, we send the necessary coordinates to providers such as GraphHopper, Open-Meteo, and WeatherAPI.com.
  • Email delivery services, to confirm applications and communicate with you.
  • These providers process the information needed to provide their service, may do so outside Chile, and are subject to their own policies. If you voluntarily connect other third-party services or devices, related processing may also be subject to those third parties’ policies.

Retention and security

  • We retain information while you keep your account or while necessary to provide the service, manage testing, meet applicable obligations, or resolve incidents. Live position is intended for temporary use during the ride.
  • We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, although no Internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.

Account deletion

  • You can request deletion of your account from the app: Profile → Account → Delete my account. You can also write to contact@cyclopilot.app, for example about your application data.
  • When you submit the request from the app, your sign-in account is deleted and we seek to delete the data associated with it, including your rides. We cannot guarantee that every record will be deleted completely or immediately: deletion of associated data may depend on our providers’ processes and on how each type of data is stored, and some copies, files, or technical records may remain for a time.
  • We may keep certain records where appropriate, for example where a legal obligation exists, to resolve disputes or prevent abuse and fraud, and content that has already been shared with other people, such as messages in a group chat.

Your choices and rights

  • You may choose not to provide optional information, not enable certain features, or turn off permissions (location, notifications, Bluetooth, Apple Health, camera, and photos) in iOS settings.
  • You can turn off "visible to my network" in your profile so your network does not see you live. Participants in group or spontaneous rides you take part in may still see you.
  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account or application, from the app or by writing to contact@cyclopilot.app, subject to applicable legal obligations.

Children

  • The testing program is not intentionally directed to minors without any authorization that may be required.

Testing phase and changes

  • CycloPilot is in a testing phase: its features, the data it processes, and the providers it uses may change.
  • We may update this policy as CycloPilot evolves. The current version and its update date will be published here.
